Thieves have been stealing Christmas lights and decorations from the front yards of homes in some Brisbane suburbs. Brisbane police have reported that to date at least four incidents of stolen lights and decorations in North Lakes, Taringa, Samford Valley, and Clayfield.

While it may be difficult to completely secure Christmas decor and lights outside the house, residents are requested to be vigilant and be on the lookout for people who will try to steal their Christmas decor, or any people they see in their neighbourhood that exhibit suspicious behavior. The police expect these theft cases to happen in neighbourhoods where there are large numbers of Christmas displays.

Residents should note the gender, body frame size, age, complexion, and hair style of suspicious people and report them to the police, who will try to apprehend these grinches who are trying to ruin Christmas, as they are dubbed by the police.
